Presenting Organization: A Common Voice for Pierce County Parents Target Audience: Parents Description: Parents Empowering Parents is a six hour training for parents who have children with intense mental health concerns. The goal of this training is to break parent isolation, restore lost hope about their current situation or their child’s future, and to network parents together to build natural community supports. The day is filled with shifting the parent’s focus; from negative to positive, from hopeless to hopeful, from a perspective of the worst kid to perhaps just a difficult kid. Parents make connections with each other and to A Common Voice. Parent evaluation feedback clearly states that at the end of the training, parents feel more hopeful about their current situation then when they first arrived in the morning. Length of Training: 6 hours |
