Our Projects

In order to meet the needs of parents/caregivers raising children or youth with emotional, behavioral challenges, SAFE has undertaken a variety of projects. Projects are based on needs which are identified and prioritized by families, with input from other stakeholders (partners).

Healthy Partnership Training

Created by SAFE WA Member Organization "Passages " from Spokane, Healthy Partnership training is for family members and professionals and provides basic skills in developing healthy, respectful working relationships between primary caregivers and mental health professionals. Healthy Partnerships is an interactive training that utilizes group exercises, videos, and lectures.

Youth N Action Art Project: "Art For Understanding"

Transformation Work Group

SAFE WA is a member of Washington State's Mental Health Transformation Project's Transformation Work Group in support of efforts to transform the delivery of services within Washington's mental health system.

Community Transformation Partnership Coalition

SAFE WA is a member of the Community Transformation Partnership Coalition. This statewide coalition is a unique and exciting effort to bring the whole continuum of family voice to systems that they use. Members include adult, parent/caregiver, youth, and advocates from across the state.

SAFE WA Family Support in Washington State Scope Search

SAFE WA Parent Coordinator and Mental Health Transformation Project Consumer Liaison are partnering to identify parent support organizations throughout the state of Washington and to identify parent/caregiver leaders in areas of Washington where no formal organizations currently exist.
