The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced on October 15, that SAFE Washington was the recipient of one of 42 Family Network Grants totaling about $8 million over three years to state-based organizations. The grant funds are used to improve services for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances and their families by strengthening relationships among family members and coalitions of family members, policymakers and service providers - recognizing that family members are the best and most effective change agents. The 42 awards under the Statewide Family Network Program are funded up to $70,000 per year in total costs. Continuation of these awards is subject to the availability of funds as well as the progress achieved by the grantees. Total funding for year one is $2,695,999. SAFE Washington was awarded $60,000. |
