How Can I Get Involved in the Work That SAFE WA Does?

There are several answers to the question, how can I get involved...

So here are a few ideas:

• Become a SAFE WA member
We are always looking to increase the membership of our statewide network. If you work or volunteer at a service provider, a parent or youth driven non-profit, a community drop-in center, or any other group that works with children with emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues, then your group can apply to become a Network Member.


• You can apply to serve on the Board of Directors.
Our Board of Directors help determine the actions that ensure we stay true to our vision, mission statement, and organizational goals. Serving on the Board is a volunteer position, but it is possible to be reimbursed for mileage and expense necessary to serve. Click for a Board Member Application.


• Join one of several SAFE WA committees.
SAFE WA has numerous committees, and you can apply to serve on one. There are committees for hiring new employees, organizing retreats, attending state or national conferences, just to name a few.


• Send an email or letter stating your appreciation for, or satisfaction with, SAFE WA.
Our staff and Network members have touched the lives of countless families and individuals. If you one of these folks, feel free to send us an email stating the services you received, the Network Member or individual who assisted you or your family, and if you can explain the positive impact that has made for your family. Our funders and stakeholders would love to hear from you!


• Volunteer to write articles or reports for the website, or offer your special talent or interest.
Everyone has a talent, and SAFE WA is grateful that you would choose to share that talent to assist our organization. Whether it be helping with articles or white papers, speaking to legislators or administrators, or just helping with emails, printing and assembling power points for training purposes, we would love to have you!


• Share a donation of any size.
Unfortunately, it takes money to pay the bills, purchase office supplies, and attend conferences to receive training, or present a workshop. If you are so inclined, we welcome contributions from individuals and/or businesses. If you would like to offer a donation to SAFE WA you may do so by mailing it to:

SAFE WA is a non-profit organization, so your donation is tax deductible. We will mail you a receipt for your donation so be sure to include your mailing address in your correspondence. We will post news of your donation on our "Sponsor SAFE WA" page of our website unless you indicate to us otherwise. Please indicate if your donation is "in memory of" or "in honor of" if applicable so we may post this information as well.
